What is the difference between the CD-ROM Practice Parcels in PowerPoint and the Y3 Upgrade CD 2009?
Practice Parcels in PowerPoint is an interim product that we produced in 2006, in responseto customer requests to have more support with the spoken language and the methodology in the scheme of work.
Practitioners who find that this is working well in their teaching probably won't need to have the Y3 Upgrade disc.
The reason why we have since produced the Y3 Upgrade disc is that we were still being asked for more support with the spoken language in the scheme of work, and people were asking for it to be linked more systematically to the lesson plans and parcels. (Practice Parcels in PowerPoint is not linked systematically to weekly delivery).
The Y3 Upgrade disc therefore contains a PowerPoint presentation that can be used on the interactive whiteboard, linked to each weekly lesson and set of parcels. It is intended primarily to support class teachers who have very little knowledge of, or confidence in, speaking French.
These PowerPoint presentations are included in the new edition of the Y3 French scheme of work, and we wanted to give people with the first edition the opportunity to have them too, if they wish.
We will gradually update the Y4, Y5 and Y6 schemes of work so that they contain the same level of spoken language support.
